“The Way I Am” By Ingrid Michaelson

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
If you need a light, I’d find a match.

‘Cause I love the way you say “good morning”.
And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
If your head is aching, I’ll make it better.

‘Cause I love the way you call me “baby”.
And you take me the way I am.

And I’ll buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
And sew on patches to all you tear.

‘Cause I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.

19 Years of Marriage… If I say this out loud enough, maybe it will seem possible. I would be lying if I said everyday or every year was easy. In fact, there were so many years of hard. Somehow here we are. Survivors of the hard!

The song that I have included in this post is a recent favorite of mine. Not only is the song super catchy, the words beautifully sum up my relationship with my husband. There is no doubt I drive that man crazy. I am grateful he has built up an extreme tolerance for “all of me,” the good and the bad. I am grateful!
